Description: |
Recombinant Human EPO is produced in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells by recombinant DNA technology is a single, polypeptide chain containing 165 amino acids and having a predicted molecular mass of 21,000 Dalton and apparent glycosylated molecular mass of 30,400 Dalton. rHuEPO is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. |
Source: |
Chinese Hamster Ovary Cells (CHO). |
Physical Appearance: |
Sterile filtered liquid formulation. |
Formulation and Packaging: |
The protein is frozen after extensive dialysis in PBS (pH=7.2). |
Solubility: |
The frozen rHuEPO is very soluble in water and most aqueous buffers below and above the isoelectric point. |
Stability: |
rHuEPO although stable at 4°C for 30 days, should be stored desiccated below -20°C for periods greater than 30 days. rHuEPO is best stored at - 70° for periods greater than 6 months. |
Purity: |
Greater than 98.0% as determined by:
Analysis by RP-HPLC.Anion-exchange FPLC.Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained. |
Amino Acid Composition: |
In total agreement with the expected amino acid composition of native human EPO. |
Dimers and aggregates: |
Less than 1% as determined by silver stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis. |
Biological Activity: |
rHuEPO is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The Specific Activity was measured by Normocyth-aemic mice and was found to be 120,000IU/mg. |
Endotoxin: |
Less than 0.1 ng/µg (IEU/µg) of rHuEPO. |
