Recombinant Human Erythropoietin-alpha - rHuEPO-a

Description: Recombinant Human EPO is produced in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells by recombinant DNA technology is a single, polypeptide chain containing 165 amino acids and having a predicted molecular mass of 21,000 Dalton and apparent glycosylated molecular mass of 30,400 Dalton. rHuEPO is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Source: Chinese Hamster Ovary Cells (CHO).
Physical Appearance: Sterile filtered liquid formulation.
Formulation and Packaging: The protein is frozen after extensive dialysis in PBS (pH=7.2).
Solubility: The frozen rHuEPO is very soluble in water and most aqueous buffers below and above the isoelectric point.
Stability: rHuEPO although stable at 4°C for 30 days, should be stored desiccated below -20°C for periods greater than 30 days. rHuEPO is best stored at - 70° for periods greater than 6 months.
Purity: Greater than 98.0% as determined by: Analysis by RP-HPLC.Anion-exchange FPLC.Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained.
Amino Acid Composition: In total agreement with the expected amino acid composition of native human EPO.
Dimers and aggregates: Less than 1% as determined by silver stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.
Biological Activity: rHuEPO is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The Specific Activity was measured by Normocyth-aemic mice and was found to be 120,000IU/mg.
Endotoxin: Less than 0.1 ng/µg (IEU/µg) of rHuEPO.
Usage: This material is for research, laboratory or further manufacturing purposes.
